Driving Schools Wimbledon (SW19)

Areas to do controls/Moving off & Stopping
Parkside Gardens is ideal for practicing moving off and stopping. 

Left/Right turns and emerging at T-Junctions
The following circuit will provide the student with excellent practice of left and right turns as well as emerging at T-junctions. Begin on Parkside Gardens and emerge left on to Parkside Avenue. This becomes Peek Crescent, at the end of which you should turn left on to Marryat Road. Turn right on to Burghley Road, and a the end of this road, emerge left on to Church Road. Another left here will take the student on to Somerset Road and from here another left should be taken on to Marryat Road. A right will then lead back to Burghley Road, then take a left at this point on to Calonne Road and then one more left to arrive back on to Parkside Gardens. Steering, MSPSL and Peep and Creep techniques can be practiced here.

Crossroads
Where Burgley Road and Marryat Road meet are suitable crossroads where correct priorities and extra observation needed at crossroads can be illustrated to the student. For practice of right-to-right crossroad negotiation, try those that can be found on Durnsford Road, Haydons Road, Plough Lane and Gap Road.

Roundabouts
There are roundabouts by Belvedere Grove, Ridgeway, Wimbledon Hill Road and Wimbledon High Street that are suitable for illustrating priorities and the correct observation required at roundabouts. For practice at a large three lane roundabout try Tibbets.

Pedestrian Crossings and use of Signals
There are plenty of crossings and signals to be found down Wimbledon Hill Road heading into The Broadway. Here the student can develop their understanding of this topic.  This road also enables planning issues to be addressed.

Areas to do maneuvers
Where Deepdale and Margin Drive meet is a perfect corner for carrying out the reverse around a corner. Parkside Gardens is a quiet road with plenty of space for practicing parallel parking and the turn in the road exercises.
